Future Mobility Challenge – Privacy Policy


Future Mobility Challenge takes your privacy seriously. It is our priority to keep your information private and confidential.



This policy covers information collected from participants, including but not limited to:

  • The participant application

  • Email or direct messaging

  • Surveys, questionnaires, challenge submissions, etc.

This policy does not cover information shared by a participant:

  • In a manner, place or via a service that can reasonably be expected to be public (i.e., community chat messages, devpost submissions)

  • Without request

  • Directly to a third-party organization or individual



In order to maintain the personal security and privacy of each participant, Future Mobility Challenge commits to:

  • Disclose when and where your information is being collected

  • Collect only the information that is strictly necessary to facilitate your participation in the event

  • Keep the information that we collect secured and to prevent unauthorized access to the best of our ability

  • Never to share your personal information with third party organizations without your explicit consent



The information we collect may be used to:

  • Confirm your identity in order to:

  • Provide access event content and community spaces

  • Assist in moderating community spaces

  • Attribute the work completed for contest submissions to you

  • Distribute swag, gifts, prizes or payments

  • Assess the quality of the event and identify trends in participation



Under very limited circumstances, your information may be shared with other individuals or organizations. This may occur because:

  • A named partner / supporter (see the list of supporting organizations on our website) has requested specific information about you or your participation. This can exclusively include:

    • Anonymized reports showing general participation trends

    • Information required to provide swag, gifts, prizes or payments (after requesting your permission)

    • Information required to facilitate opportunities like job interviews, funding / grant requests, meetings, visits or private demos (after requesting your permission)

  • Information must be shared in order to facilitate connections with other participants




There may be some circumstances where your information is shared in order to maintain the integrity and security of our community. These may include:

  • Requests from law enforcement or government agencies (with appropriate legal documentation to facilitate the request)

  • Violation of our rules or harassment policy. This may take place for the following reasons:

  • To ensure the integrity of similar events hosted by our named partners / supporters or by MLH

  • To assist in resolving situations which arise from a violation of the rules

  • To ensure the safety, security and comfort of participants
